Dealing with any kind of boiler system requires proper training and certification. This is especially true when working with the type of large-scale commercial boilers that Industrial Steam Boiler Corporation builds and services every day. For us, certification isn't just anything - it's everything.
We are proud to deliver all of our packaged and field-erected boilers with the official stamps of approval from the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) and the National Board of Boiler and Pressure Vessel Inspectors (NBBI). These approval stamps can be seen at the bottom of our website and on the commercial boilers we provide as the letters, H-U-R-S.
What Does "H-U-R-S" Mean?
Not necessarily an acronym, each individual letter is a separate certification obtained through different programs offered by the ASME and NBBI.
- H - is obtained through the Boiler and Pressure Vessel Certification Program (BPVC) from the ASME for heating boilers and cast iron section heating boilers.
- U - Also obtained through the BPVC Program, the "U" certificate is for pressure vessels and appears on all the pressure vessels our company sells.
- R - The "R" certification comes from the NBBI for the repair and/or alteration of boilers, pressure vessels, and other pressure-retaining items.
- S - This stamp is granted through the BPVC Program for power boilers. You will see this stamp on all steam and water boilers our company sells for power generating applications.
